よりしろとはスピリチュアルなものが依りつく対象をさす言葉です。
この言葉の下で6度目の個展となり、その制作期間も10年を越えました。
死者に抱かれて火葬され燃え残り、繰り返しそのように使われるものとして制作を始めましたが
やがて、火葬というプロセスを経なくても、陶の立体が内包する空間が記憶や想いの入れものになると考えるに至りました。
死者と生者のあわいに在る器と考え制作しています。
Yorishiro
Yorishiro is an object related to the divine spirit.When an object is prepared to receive this invisible, divine spirit, it is called "Yorishiro." This is the sixth exhibition with the title "Yorishiro," and 10 years have passed since I first started working with it.
In the first years, I thought of Yorishiro as objects which come and go between the living and the dead: to be held by the person who has died and cremated with them. Since the Yorishiro are not burned away, they remain intact after the cremation. In this way, they can be used again and again.
In recent years I have come to think that Yorishio does not necessarily have to be cremated with the dead, as the hollow shape itself would embrace the memories and sentiments.
For me, Yorishiro is a vessel that is a connection between the living and the dead.
